THE STORY
Hutch is the studio of Warren Turnbull - designer, maker, and the sole hand behind every piece that leaves his workshop.
I've been working with wood since early childhood, but it took years of craft, experimentation and refinement to find the work I actually wanted to make. Now I make only the things I genuinely believe in - pieces built at the intersection of refined modernism and sculptural craft, designed to last a lifetime and mean something to whoever inherits them.
Every piece is handcrafted, signed, dated and numbered. There is no production line. There is a workshop, a maker and a finite number of pieces made each year.

THE PROCESS
01
THE CONVERSATION
Every project begins with understanding the space, the intent, and what the piece needs to mean. Materials. Proportions, and purpose are established before anything is made.
This is where the idea takes its first shape.

THE INSPIRATION
THE MAKING
Rough sketches, reference images, and material selections guide the directions. Nothing is rigid at this stage - the design is a starting point, not a blueprint.
Hutch pieces evolve through making, not despite it.
Each piece is handcrafted in the workshop. The wood leads, and the final form emerges through the process - through the way the grain moves, the way a curve want to sit.
When it is done, it's signed, dated, and numbered.
There are no production lines.
